We stopped in at AJ Martin?s hoping to find a unique Men?s wedding ring. Their selection was practically non-existent. However, the owner happily informed us that having a custom ring made was a simple matter. After being assured repeatedly that the ring would be made according to our specifications and within our time-line, we placed a deposit. We were told to expect a call in a day or two asking us to come down and approve the wax casting. A week passed, and no call. Concerned, a call was made to the establishment. After asking the owner about its status and voicing our concerns about having it in time for the wedding, the owner began using terms like ?Possibly? and ?Maybe?. As you can imagine, we were not at all thrilled with this sudden change of verbiage. I reminded her of our time-line and her promise to fulfill her end of the agreement. At this point, the owner actually tried to make me feel guilty for expecting her to keep to her promise! At the end of the phone call, I was told to come down to the shop Wednesday eve to finally look at the casting. Wednesday came, and we arrived to meet a dirty and slovenly dressed individual. The owner informed us that he was the jeweler responsible for actually making the ring. He never made the casting. In fact he had no idea what we had ordered. Instead, he tried to show us several rings which had no relation to what was ordered. I had had enough. I asked the jeweler point blank if he was able to complete the project in time and in accordance with our design. Before he could answer, the owner chimed in stating ?We don?t want to do it for you anymore?. She then once again tried to insinuate that her ineptness was somehow my (the customers) fault. I happily retrieved my deposit and vacated the premises. I would strongly recommend avoiding AJ Martin?s. That is, unless you enjoy being lied to and insulted. Cons: Rude, Dishonest more

AJ took the time to find out what style I like and was right on target when she pulled a beautiful Art Deco-style engagement ring out of the case that is perfect for me. Though AJ has a ton of beautiful antique rings (and new ones), I couldn't find the one that was just his style. So our adventure of creating my own ring began. Throughout the process and even through my move out-of-state, AJ was patient, witty, informative, and honest about my suggestions. I have just received the wedding band, and it is amazing. It is exactly as I'd envisioned it, and AJ used her contacts in Nashville, New York, and Israel to make it happen. Whether or not you're in the market for custom jewelry, her shop is necessitates a visit. Her collection of fine jewels is worth lusting over, and she has up to the minute jewelry to satisfy even the most thrifty a spender.
