Great 11/8/2008

We love this restaurant and the new location is much bigger (although still small and cozy). We usually end up ordering our favorites?pear appetizer and sausage with fig and dates. Amazing. I love that this place is BYOB and if you bring beer they will put it in the fridge! The atmosphere is friendly and romantic (dimly lit by candle light) and filled with people in the neighborhood enjoying food, wine, and conversation. The only thing that I think they can improve on is the plastic wine glasses?I can?t remember if this has changed with the opening of the new place. Pros: flavorful food, byob, $20 pre fixe, friendly staff more

they moved to 973 columbus 11/24/2007

the guys at A moved up a block to 973 columbus and 108. stilll byob, food amazing, more space. they are now called A cafe and wine room because they had to stop using the subway logo. 212.222.2033 Pros: everything more

great new location, same owners, better food 11/24/2007

i was pleasantly surprised to find out that my favorite restaurant, A, hadn't closed, but just relocated. they also changed the logo due to the fact that the MTA threatened action for using the subway logo. also, a new restaurant opened next to the old space and the owners are really shady. they told me that A had closed because their food was better. YEAH RIGHT!!! anyway, i finally rediscovered A, and the food was so much better than even I remembered. the new location is beautiful too. the owners put in a lot of personal touches.
