Editorial review from Citysearch 11/15/2012

Love Bright Beginnings Preschool. Our son is in the three year old program and loves it. He talks about all his friends, what he learns and how he especially loves his teacher. \r \r I had read the two reviews posted below and was skeptical, however I have a friend who goes to church here and knows the preschool director. My friend only said positive things and said she occassionally seeks out the director for parenting advice. \r \r My husband, my parents and I have all noticed how much he has improved with his writing letter, skill level with crafts (glue, scissors, drawing), socializing with other kids and listening/paying attention. And he has only been attending since the beginning of the school year - about 3 months. During conferences, his teacher explained she is saving some early work to compare to his work this coming spring. Can't wait to see the difference!\r \r Love the school, the teachers and would definitely recommend sending your child here. more

Pleased with our experience Bright Beginnings! 1/25/2012

This will be our second year with a child in the Bright Beginnings program and we continue to be quite satisfied with the service provided. The program is well managed and professionally implemented. Both staff and administrators have demonstrated that quality communication is a priority. One of our children attended another program prior to Bright Beginnings which wasn’t terrible, but it was clearly lacking in almost every area. I would have given it a 3 star rating. Last year we switched to Bright Beginnings hoping for an improved preschool experience. We were all much happier at Bright Beginnings. At the end of last year, I would have given the program a 4 star rating. When staff and director changes were evident going into the 2011-2012 year, we were concerned the quality of the program would suffer. That concern was quickly put to rest. The program strikes a solid balance between “child led play” and more traditional learning techniques. We especially appreciate the in-home visits by the teachers prior to the first day of school and the option of face-to-face fall conferences (as opposed to conferences by phone). Regular classroom updates from the teachers are fun to read and discuss with our student. At Bright Beginnings, our children have demonstrated steady (and sometimes dramatic) progress in their academic, social and motor skills. One of our children has hesitated to go to school or day care in the past, but this year is quite eager get in the car and go – the faster the better! There’s always room for improvement, no matter if you’re running a restaurant, a preschool or a Fortune 500 company. With that said, we confidently give the current program a 5 star rating and proudly pass along the recommendation to friends and family. more

no longer great 1/4/2012

First, last year I would have given Bright Beginnings a five star rating. I loved the program and all the teachers, but not now. There has been a staff change and a program change away from child-led play to an institutional structure. The preschool teachers are not only rude to the parents, but also the children. My child went from loving preschool one year to my having to drag him after the first week of the next. I did the responsible thing and set up a meeting with the preschool director, who is also a teacher and two other board members, to try and solve this issue as well as a few others. The director and board members then proceeded to blame me and my husband for our child not wanting to go to preschool. Very unprofessional. Things continued to go downhill from there. The teachers were still very rude. It became more and more apparent that my child was being punished because of the meeting. Needless to say we did not finish out the first half of the preschool semester. more
