Best Bead Store in Portland 5/1/2009

No comparison, Dixie has it all and delightfully helpful staff to boot. This is the place to be for serious beaders or beginners. Also, a nice line of unusual gifts available here. Don't forget to check out her glass shop next door while you're at it. Give yourself a lot of time as you'll be in there a while looking. more

Best Bead Store Around 4/30/2007

Dixie's "A Bead Source" leaves all the others in the dust. If you're a serious beader or just like things that are unique and different this store is a mainstay. Excellent assistance, perfect prices, outrageous selection. You don't want to miss this one. And hey, while you're at it you must hop into the adjacent Dichroic glass store. Linda more

Beading for the nations 1/6/2006

Beading is a popular craft in the Portland area. Part of the reason it's so popular is because of our rich Native American History. This is the only bead store own not only by a woman, but by a Native American in the Portland area. In addition to being a supplier for many of the craftspeople in our local Native American community, this is also a business that contributes to the young people in our community. I learned about this bead shop through the Native American Youth Association and was encouraged to support it because of their support for the youth. Their selection is large, their prices are good, their staff is friendly, and even as a non-beader I was compelled to buy some pretty things! more

A Beaders Treasure chest 11/2/2005

You need to plan some time when you come to A Bead Source its not the place you want to just rush in and out of. When you walk into A Bead Source you are overwhelmed, it is like finding a treasure chest full of wonderful jewels in the form of beads. They have a fantastic selection. If you are a true bead lover, then this is the place for you. They have all the supplies you need and so much to see, big beads, small beads, beads from all around the world. The employees are very helpful and prices are great. more

Got to LOVE this place! 6/15/2005

Talk about selection... WOW! This place can be down right overwhealming!! If you go here plan on being ttheir a while! This is by far the largest bead shop I have ever been in! You do not know where to look next. They have stuff here that I never even would have thought of. Theyhave beads from all over the world. If you have the time and the intrest you have to check this place out! more
