cantilever deck is a disaster 9/4/2011

The cantilever deck was a disaster. We have some pictures of the cantilever deck that we can share if requested Onto the review. There were a few hiccups with our pool installation, but usually we worked through them, maybe with the occasional argument. But when the pool was finished two problems remained. First, they couldn't properly install the valve in front of the filter. It leaks and the filter sucks in air. You see this in the form of air bubbles in the return lines. They actually attempted to fix the problem once, which involved putting epoxy in the cracks of the valve housing. This did not fix the problem of course. I found the leak myself simply by watching the valve while turning off the pump. I eventually had to fix it myself by using plubmer's epoxy to fill the hole where the leak was coming from. I wonder why pool builders who specialize in plubming couldn't think of a simple fix like this? I literally went back and forth with them on this problem for two months, with them coming out twice to fix it with no results. It makes me fear for the rest of my plumbing system underground..... About the cantilever deck, let me tell you, the cantilever deck is a total disaster. There are indentions all throughout, at every corner where the duck tape was used to hold the forms in place. Think of the concrete surface looking like crumpled up paper rather than the smooth surface you expect for a pool deck. Worse, there are nails sticking out of the cantilever deck sides where the forms were held in place. The didn't bother to sand down these sharp edges. The bottom of the cantilever deck is very ragged, and in some places the cantilever deck actually has chunks that have fallen out of it. I really couldn't imagine it being much worse than this. I have been contemplating suing them for breach of contract. Probably most telling about this company is that when I called them on the phone to explain how horrible the coping looked, the owner of the company tried to sell me a $4000 deck coating. He attempted to make me believe that without a spray deck, cool deck, or whichever pool deck coating is in fashion, all copings generally look like crap and like they're falling apart. Really? Yeah, he said the coating fills in the cracks and crannies. Wow. My advice is avoid like the plague, and be on the lookout for fake shill reviews that are put up in an attempt to boost the score after seeing this low one. more
