24 Hour is not a bad workout place. It has all kinds of equipment and classes. The staff is friendly and outgoing, and the trainers really know their job. But its a big corporation and like most big corporations it doesn't seem to care very much about its customers. I have submitted written suggestions and never got a response. Broken equipment stays broken for weeks or months. The men's locker rooms need more benches. (One of those suggestions that were never acknowledged) We're almost sitting in each others laps as we change clothes. There's plenty of room for more benches, I think they're just being cheap ( I have never been in the women's locker room but assume it too lacks sufficient benches ). The lockers themselves have only 2 hooks in them. They should have 5 or 6. (1 on each wall, including the door and a double hook in the center of the top) There aren't enough hooks to hang all my clothes, necessitating throwing them into the locker where they sometimes get dirty from the mud and dirt on the bottom of the locker, left behind by footwear. Again, it seems like they went with the lowest bidder for the lockers. \r It would be nice if there were a public telephone in the lobby area, to make a quick call upon entering or leaving. Or is everyone expected to have a cell phone now? Holes in the parking lot remain unfilled for months. I realize 24 Hour isn't directly responsible for filling them (altho a few bags of asphalt patch from Lowe's would do the job) but why isn't it hounding the landlord to fill them??? Again, it makes it seem like they don't care about their customers. The parking lot lites are on all day every day, wasting energy and contributing to global warming. For those of us who care about our environment, it is exasperating to see that every time we go there..Why doesn't management hound the landlord about getting that issue fixed as well? Again the answer is, they just don't care.\r The pool has WAY too much chlorine in it. I went once and my entire body itched afterwards. Showering did no good. It was IN my skin, not ON it. When it first opened the pool had salt water. I don't know why it was changed.\r In conclusion, there are probably better places to workout in Boulder. The best thing 24 Hour has going for it is that it is open 24 hours. I'm a nite person and like to workout in the late evening, and I got a really good deal on membership.\r more

Disgusting 11/18/2010

I joined this facility after it moved to the new location on Iris. I loved this place for it's great machines and the ease of moving through a workout without it being overcrowded. That changed after they hired a full-time mechanic who's biggest job was gawking at the women while they worked out. After numerous incidences of having this individual being behind me while working out, I either had to quit or talk to a manager. Big mistake talking to the manager! Two other morning employees got wind of the gossip and along with this mechanic made my workout a literal harrassing nightmare. Reluctant to leave, I once again spoke to the manager who seemed to be understanding, was either fueling the gossip or ignoring my attempts to have this type of humiliation cleared up. After five months of this I have decided to go to a new gym. I would not recommend this gym to any woman. more

Love the gym.!!! Great staff, great classes, machines etc...\r BUT....please look into hiring a staff of folks who can keep the place clean.... The women's locker is kinda nasty..... There's often empty bottles left in the shower stalls & clumps of hair. \r Although on the hand...people can be nasty too & not clean up after themselves. \r Like just because it's a public facility I can just leave my sh*t (literally, at times) anywhere..."Someone else will get that"-attitude more

This gym needs a janitor 10/4/2009

Since joining 24 hour fitness I have enjoyed an inexpensive membership, excellent yoga and fitness classes and lots of great machines. What I have not liked is the overcrowding, the condition of the locker rooms and the lack of cleanliness and sanitation in the gym. For all the hundreds of people who are working out there are very few disinfectant stations and quite often the stations are out of disinfectant and paper towels. The women's locker room is downright gross with big puddles of water on the floor and very dirty bathrooms. The showers look like they are rarely cleaned and always have huge clumps of hair on the floors. The steam room and hot tub area seems to be equally unsanitary. I would suggest not using the locker room and just showering at home.If you are going to shower definitely wear shower sandals or you may contract a fungus or skin disease or swine flu.For all the huge numbers of members that they have you would certainly think that they could afford to have full-time janitors or locker room attendants. I would be much happier with my membership at 24 Hour Fitness if the gym was cleaned more regularly. Pros: Great classes, lots of machines, inexpensive membership Cons: Very dirty and unsanitary locker rooms and bathrooms more
