I made the mistake of stopping at this facility because my nine year old daughter came down with a sore throat late on a Friday afternoon. Due to the time of day I could not have made it to our regular doctor's office before they closed. We were checked in by a very "In Your Face" nurse that was not a pleasant experience. This employee acted like they where disgruntled with their employer. After check in we saw there doctor for about ten minutes, my daughter was diagnosed with Tonsillitis. She was prescribed antibiotic pills. We ordered our medication from our pharmacist and picked it up about two hours later. The pills were so large she had no way to swallow them. I called back to the facility to tell them about the pills. They took a while to reorder liquid antibiotics for us. About an additional 2 hours we finally took the first round of medication. In about a month the bills come for this 20 minute visit to this facility. The facility charge is about $750.00 and the doctor's charge is about $250.00. One thousand dollars for a 20 minute doctor visit. I wrote them a letter asking them to reconsider the charge and to make them an offer to pay $200.00. They promptly called me. It took a while for me to get back with them. When I call them back the corporate lady first laughed at me because it took me so long to get back to her. Once she settled down and listened to me she could only remind me I went to an emergency room. These people do not advertise their prices, there is not a price book available for you to consider. They have you over the barrel and know it once you sign with them. They feel pretty good about the profit margin they make and will not consider reducing their profit regardless of the situation. I feel like I've been taken and laughed at. This is because I have been taken and I have been laughed at by Sugarland 24 Hour Hospital LP.
