19 North Salon & Spa

I love 19 N. To be honest, the first appt I scheduled last year when I moved down here I cancelled because of a bad review and I went to a place in Barnesville...and that was AWFUL! So when it came time to get my hair done again, I thought it couldn't be any worse than the last cut! BUT 19 North was so much better than anywhere else around here!! I just love Natalie, the owner, and I seem to never have any problems getting appointments when I needed one. I have never waited more than a few days (like I called on Sat and got an appt for the following Friday or I also have called on Tuesday and got an appt for that Thursday (2 days later)! I get my hair cut short (like Victoria Beckham used to) and I get color every time. Yes, it is more expensive than GREAT CLIPS but it is sooooo much better than that. It is NOT more expensive than the other places that were equally great but not local. I would and I do recommend everyone I can to them. I get compliments on my hair all of the time! The color is good, the cut is always exactly what I ask for. I have not had any of the other "spa" services they offer but I hear from a friend they are nice as well. Pros: great customer service, clean, wonderful ambience and they are all super friendly Cons: parking maybe? but I have never had a problem with this more

i booked an appointment not knowing that the person who would be cutting my hair was a middle aged man who cuts hair in his spare time!! i had to wait for over 30 min before i was called back and was there almost two hours total! i didn't notice my eyebrows were botched until i got home (even my mother noticed the chunk of hair that was missing.) when i called and asked for a refund on my eyebrows the owner refused saying that she would be happy to correct them problem...how? by removing all the hair? i finally went up there, my seven month year old in tow, and demanded to have my tip back and after much explaining she finally relented. i don't like confrontation and normally do not complain but the job was so terrible i felt it was necessary to make my point. i will never go back and i am reccomending you stear clear as well. ok.. i heard this was the BEST place for color and such.. WELL.. it is if you can get booked with the owner.. but u cant unless you wait for a month.. her employees, which change every 6 months, are fresh out of beauty school, and are not EXPERIENCED! i found one of her stylist that i did like (since i couldnt get back in with her the owner) and i went to call and supposedly she quit.. so its always someone new doing my hair.. all in all i felt like i was at an upscaled fantastic sams.. the price was a little high as well.. definately not worth the money, nor the WAIT... Pros: very good atmosphere, friendly (to your face, but if u call back for a problem.. the friendliness changed QUICKLY) Cons: long wait, unskilled stylist, very expensive more

I had the best time ever in this salon. Everyone was overwhelming polite, my stylist was eager to please me listening to my every word,showing me pictures, and color samples.Taking real time with me and not trying to rush me offwhile my color sat. All the other girls spoke to me. My color was wonderful it looked fresh and brightand the cut was even better than the picture. She even took the time to show me how to style it what I needed to use to make it look the same when i did it at home.And my hair has looked fabulous ever sience. I called back to rebook with her right away. Those girls reslly have a great thing tucked away in the heart of pike county. Pros: refreshments, reasonable, prompt Cons: I cant sped every day more

I went in to get a hair cut and color and it cost me $170. I was blonde when I went in, I wanted my roots done and my hair a lighter blonde, when I came out my hair was a grayish color!! Luckily I didn't like the way she styled my hair and when I washed it my shampoo stripped out the color. The people there were not friendly, kind of snobby. I definately won't be going back there.
