12 Rounds Of Boxing Fitness

After asking around for a boxing gym in Austin, I was told there was a big one. Unfortunately, it's too far north for me. Then I came across one down South & it was only 1 mile from the house. Rey, the owner, showed me around & offered a free 1st class. I was hooked after that! I have been a member of this gym for a little over a month and have enjoyed every minute that I am there. It is a great place to work out, learn boxing, and have fun. All the instructors are cool, fun, and appear to really love working there. Ray (owner) is very knowledgeable about the sport of boxing and can teach you a lot even in a short amount of time. I have recommened this place to all my friends as when you attend a class you will definitly get a better workout compared to just going to a gym. When I first joined I was out of shape and worried about being able to keep up, but all the instructors have gone out of their way to make me feel welcomed, meet me at my level of fitness, and challenge me to push myself. I started out wanting to go a few times a week, but I enjoy it so much that I go almost everyday. Everyone there is real friendly and clearly try to create a welcoming environment. If you like the sport of boxing or would just like to try a new way to workout you should definitly give this place a shot. more

The owner is there to greet you and welcome you with a handshake. It was my first time ever boxing and I was nervous about entering in a boxing gym, but those nerves quickly disappeared as the owner made me feel as though he had known me for years. It's a small gym, with enought equipment though, but that is great because it has a personal feel to it. He asked what I wanted from the workout and I told him that I was looking for self defense and a great workout and he tailored a workout for me for those purposes and made sure that I did everything correctly but never pushed me more than I could handle. He just started the gym about a year ago but you can tell it's his passion. He understood that I was a beginner and treated me with respect and answered any question that I had. His training classes are great and really get your heart rate going with a non-stop pace that will surely show results quickly. It's like having a personal trainer and all you pay for is the membership fee on a monthly basis. There is no contract so you don't feel obligated to go to the gym but I gurantee that once you go you won't want to stop. When I left I felt like I accomplished something, loss weight, and had fun doing it and overall felt like a made a new friend. Rick (the owner) is right next to you doing the workouts so that you don't feel that you are the only one doing it. His interest are to make sure that you are ok and doing it correctly. Pros: Great equipment, no one harassing you and trying to get your phone number, everyone there is there to workout, great atmosphere and great owner Cons: none at all more

Great gym to get a workout and burn calories. I left there feeling that I could lose weight fast and enjoy working out. The owner is there 95% of the time and will work out with you in all the classes. He is there for you and enjoying his passion while doing it. He looks you in the eye and shakes your hand (very rare now days when everyone just sees you as a price tag) he remembers your name and will assist you in any way that he can to make sure you are doing everything correctly and maximizing your workouts. GREAT customer service, does not try and push anything on you and does not require a contract to join. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone that is interested in a great workout (just look at boxers, have you ever seen a fat boxer), looking to box, or looking to try and learn self defense. You will leave there feeling like you accomplished something and knowing that the management is there for your best interest's. It's not a big gym (like these other gyms around) but has great equipment. The people are there to workout and not try to pick up someone or there just to say they went to the gym. Great atmosphere and great management, what more could you ask for when pursuing weight-loss. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pros: Plenty of parking, no contract, great customer service, excellent equipment great way to lose weight and learn how to defend yourself while doing it. Cons: Some people may not like a small gym and if that the case take yourself to the ""big box"" gyms where your just another account to them. more

I like to fight! One day i decided i wanted to get some actual training. I passed this place daily because i live in the area. One day i decided to check it out. Im glad that i did. They have all sorts of helpful equipment, a great coach, and its a wonderful enviorment to work out in. No B.S. you can go there work hard, and feel great. You can even spar if your up to it. Everyone that ive met there has been very helpful. Im learning all the fundamentals of boxing, and how to throw better, more accurate punches! I get excited to go to the gym because i learn something new every time i go! This place is great- I would definetly recomend this place if your looking for one-on-one practice. Maybe you dont want to fight, If not - its a great place to get in shape and work out. Male or Female this place is great. Check it out! Abo more
