I've Djed at weddings for over 20 yrs, from Sact.to Salinas, and this place has the rudest caterers I've ever seen. The grounds look nice BUT make sure you see where the ceremony is performed! Unless you consider moss "quaint" & have a group of less than 100, this is not the place for you. The guests were sitting on cheap, filty white patio chairs. Their "big deal" was to ring a bell ONCE when the ceremony ended. The owner MAY want to dress up a little more than a hoodie and jeans; considering this was supposed to be a formal event and all. You have to drive up this one lane road on a steep hill that will be dark when your guests are coming back. Have designated drivers, GPS or convoys going downhill. It is very easy to get lost. Your vendors (music, cake, photo) only have access to the grounds one hour before your ceremony UNLESS you pay for extra time. So you won't be able to have a live band unless you pay for additional set up time. This makes no sense; EVERY other site welcomes vendors early. The bride's peace of mind SHOULD be top priority; NOT HERE! The gate to enter is on top of a steep hill. I backed my van up to unload since I had to set up two systems. I was told by Charlie (rude) that I was blocking the gate. I calmly told him once the gate opened, I would push my stuff to the side. I asked if he would open the gate & I would start doing that seeing as it's 4 mins. early. He scoffs and turns to walk away. The staff (ruder) did only the bare minimum. The guests were told the buffet table would be opened for seconds, yet I had people coming up to me asking about the buffet table. It's pretty bad when people ask the DJ about the food! I work as a catering chef M-F and the food was nothing special. I asked for a pitcher of water three times; NEVER got it. When some of these guests asked the owner (RUDEST) she dismissed them with a tone dripping of disdain. Then she had me end music 30 mins early. What?? I can't emphasis this enough to brides; you and your guests deserve much better than this
