Review content:
First, I think it's hilarious that Louie Morales, the owner of Katy KIPS, is posing as a parent and posting positive reviews for his own gym. "louielouie1" is his personal email address.
We spent 2 years at KIPS. Terisa is amazing, she has the best class control I have ever seen in, and we've been to 3 different gyms over the course of 6 years. She constantly introduces the girls to new skills and taylors her classes to accomodate each girl's skill level. She is the best recreational coach I have ever watched. My daughter loved being in her class. KIPS is lucky to have her!
The owner is a very qualified coach, as he said in his own review, but his communication style and personality hold him back from having a more successful business. I don't see how he can stay in business much longer at the rate he's going.
There is a warm family atmosphere for the most part, although the owner Mr. M (Louie Morales), seems to have a hard time holding onto qualified staff (with the exception of Terisa of course). We have witnessed two team coaches walk out without giving notice due to his micro-management style and his treatment of them. Several other employees just have flaked out and left the owners and classes in a bind by not showing up for scheduled classes. His lack of staff is a serious problem.
The new gym location in the Pump It Up Jr. facility needs some improvement. There are walls that limit visibility, as well as create safety concerns (beams up against the walls, trampoline blocking walkways... ).
Overall, there is good recreational level gymnastics being taught by Coach Terisa. I would have liked to see more professional attitudes among the other KIPS staff and KIPS owners.
