Review content:
Buena VIsta's Discovery Connection program is an awesome service that is provided for children after school. They teach kids using the multiple intelligence model, which takes into account the fact that children learn differently and at different rates. The after school program uses art, music, computers and other things to teach kids important life skills.
They also have a summer program, which is equally great. The kids go on field trips every Friday to local educational site, such as Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Cliff Castle Casino (bowling), Castle Golf (in Prescott Valley), and other fun places. There are also weekly trips to the river and local creeks, as well as the community pool.
Owner Leslie Owen started the non-profit in her basement several years ago, and it has now blossomed into the main after school program in the area. Buena Vista offers other services related to child care, such as referrals and assorted local resources.
