It would be easy to overlook this restaurant, in the middle of Miami's Coconut Grove district, as just an overpriced sports bar. Not so! The log cabin decor, though potentially gimmicky, actually is casually fun. And, if you're lucky enough to eat outside, you get to sit at a covered table which can glide gently back and forth. None of this would matter, though, if the food weren't so damn good. The chili was fantastic, tasting like it had cooked all day. The ribs and brisket were truly delicious -- and I'm picky about ribs! For dessert we had the mindblowing Moe Bananas, a deep-friend banana cheesecake in a flour tortilla. The portions are quite generous, and the menu has a wide range of prices. We were able to fill up on great food without breaking the bank. On top of that, the service was excellent. The waitstaff is young and cool, as befits the neighborhood, yet attentive and friendly. After dinner the chef came out to see how we liked it all. Granted, we were there early on a weekday evening, so your mileage may vary -- the area gets busier later, and on the weekends can be packed.
