Review content:
We made our 3rd visit to San Francisco Aug 30, 2007 and ate at Tangerine on September 4th. It quickly became our favorite Bay area restaurant. WOW! The stuffed portobellas are divine - I can't emphasize this enough. So were the spicy corn fritters and the yam cakes! It was hard to determine which we loved most. Entrees were the Seabass Edamame and Prawn Pasta with Spicy Anchovy, both extraordinary in presentation and taste. Service was impeccable. We did not have reservations, but we were accommodated with a window table even though the restaurant was quickly filling with those who did. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive despite being quite busy with a full house. Although the restaurant is small, we were comfortable in our space and had enough privacy. The decor is intimate and warm with hues of tangerine amidst perfect lighting. A huge floral display at the entrance is enchanting, tangerine colored lilies which I wanted to photograph. I took a business card when we left so I could write a note to the owner/chef thanking him for our wonderful dining experience and pleading for him to consider opening a restaurant in Seattle! We miss Tangerine already and are looking forward to our return visit. Pros: Excellent food and service; Creative menu; Large portions; Good presentation; Reasonable Prices Cons: Parking
