Don't bother with these guys. I had problems with my oil furnace shutting down at random times. I asked them to perform the routine maintenance and troubleshoot to find the problem. The technician, Dave, came out for the initial visit. He charged me $150 for that visit and proceeded to tell me that I needed a new oil pump. I had no heat for 3 days before George came by to install a new pump for an additional $400. Its a good thing I have a wood stove for back up heat.\r The furnace ran ok for about two weeks before it started shutting down again. When I called them about this, they didn't seem to want to come out and take care of the problem. They just wanted to tell me over the telephone how to troubleshoot my furnace. I paid them to fix this because I don't like crawling around under my house! And while I was under my house trying to describe to Dave what I was seeing, he wasn't listening to a word I said. He was telling me to do stupid things that I knew weren't the problem. I am a mechanical engineer. I can figure these things out when I need to.\r I decided I was done with Fire & Ice, and called Honke Heating in Gresham Oregon. The Honke technician came out, and in a matter of minutes found the problems. He pointed out all of the things that Dave and George should have done, but didn't do, before selling me a $400 fuel pump! It turns out that a $10 part could have fixed my problem.\r Looking back on it, I believe I paid $150 for Dave to install a new fuel filter on that initial visit. I know he did that because he left the old on laying under my house. But there is no evidence he did anything more. Honke did the remaining maintenance and charged me a lot less money than that fuel filter cost me.\r Fire & Ice is not trustworthy! Do not do business with them!
