Exterior painting and wood repair and wood work replacement on 100 year old Tudor home carriage house. and The Pittsburgh Painting Company provided exceptional service. One of the best contractors that I have ever worked with on my very large and century old home. Bill, the estimator and contact person was immediately responsive to my request for an estimate and punctual for every meeting. The company is extremely experienced in working on older homes and included wood repair and replacement in its estimate. I had bids from four other Angie's Listed painters and not one of the others offered this critical service. Even with this additional, critical level of service, Pittsburgh Painting Company was the lowest bidder. The crew of painters and carpenters arrived on the day scheduled and worked daily for two weeks. The workers were skilled, courteous, professional and responsive. The carpenters recreated the scroll work at the angles of the third story tudor panels and essentially rebuilt the facade on a second story dormer. They took great pride in their work and the result demonstrates it. The painters were precise. and neat. To say that this company was easy to work with would be an understatement. Given the size of my home, 7500 square feet, and the scope of the project, Bill was willing to break down the bid into sections of the house and carriage house so that I could do part of the project this summer and complete in in the spring of next year with the price guaranteed. On the day the project was completed, Bill did a walk - through with me and took care of some detail work I requested. The crew did a thorough clean up, I give Pittsburgh Painting Company the highest possible recommendation. As close to a perfect contractor that I have found. One final note. The Pittsburgh Painting Company has done a lot of work in the East End of the city of Pittsburgh and I was aware of the company because of the constant presence of their trucks in my neighborhood. I was quite surprised that the company had so few ratings on Angie's List.. I used Angie's List to identify all of the bidders for my job , including the Pittsburgh Painting Company, because I wanted to be sure I was getting bids from comparable Contractors (insured, employees not subs, etc.). Although I have received repeated requests from Angie's List to rate the other contractors that I searched on the website, I have not received any requests to rate the Pittsburgh Painting Company. I mention this so that other users of Angie's List don't limit their search to the providers with the most listings. The Pittsburgh Painting Company had the fewest reviews but the most services and best pricing of any of the other companies I contacted and the end result was superb.
