The other day, I made an appoitment at Dr. James Saul and Associates, to recieve an eye contact exam. There seemed to be some kind of confusion. when I made the eye appointment, I failed to say"" For a contact eye exam appointment""... Instead, I said an eye exam.. They told me the charge is $78.00... FINE!! Sold!!! now walking into this establishment, I was wearing my perscripton glasses as usual.. Now my doctor being an Optomitrist.. you would think generally i'd be asked.. "" are you looking for a new lenses? or contacts!!! I said ""maybe in the furture, but for now mine are just fine. I just need my eye checked and sized for contact lenses.. Dr. Saul totally dis-regaurded what I said and proceeded with my eye exam.. after the sizing and giving me an eye screening test, he said well if your intrested in concats we can go ahead and size you and get you started today.. I said, ""OK yes!!"" Because that's what I wanted and that's why I was there in the first place.. He said ""there will be another charge for sizing and explaining to you, how to use and insert them."" ""Also, I will show you how to clean your contact lenses.. I said oh and how much is that, he proceeded to say $90.00.."" then I got really confused, because that's what I wanted from the getco.. I left and went into car with serious confusion.. Then, I decided to call around to many other eye care places for pricing.. I found out with an eye contact exam and temporary lenses it's only$ 113.00 to $120.00 that being the most expensive.. such as (Elmhurst areas)... Now mind you, I've already had an eye exam for $78.00 now the doctor wants to charge me another $90.00 for what, to show me how to use the damn things. REALLY?? this place was totally in-effficent in helping me and my needs.... I went back inside and told them that i'm very sorry, I must have made a mistake. I came here today for contacts,they said we inderstand that.. there is two appotminrts in order to recive contacts... this was complete nonsense... another places will see you in only one visit and charge $113-$120.00.. this place in Villa Park, mind you... which is not a very high strong town or wealthy community and is charging me $168.00 for nothing.. Here I am a young 25 year old female, not knowing really how to schedulae an eye exam..(first time for everything) then having a doctor ripping me off for another appoitment.. either this guy is desperat for money or really just thinks he could pull a fast one on me.. I will no longer proceeed with my second visit of $90.00. I will drive my ass to another eye care doctor and recieve better service, for less.... this is one place I defitnaly wouldn't referr anyone too!! Trust me it seemed nice in the beginning, because it was so close to home.. but i don't wanna be taken avantage of.. thanks everyone whom took the time to read this.. Good luck to you!!!
