I brought my kitten in with what I knew was ringworm one look at him and the DR. agreed, Just in case he wanted to put him under the Woods lamp, it glows which is the positive result for ringworm, just to be extra sure he suggests sending out culture they do the culture & I go to pay and it was over $300.00! (that's without the meds!) They did not have the meds on site so I had to wait 4 days to get them, & pay a separate 70$.The ridiculously expensive cultures came back 3 weeks later negative yet the DR. assured me that that test is very unreliable to continue treatment. So now they had me pay $300+ for unreliable test when we knew what it was with out it! After speaking to the shelter where I got the cat I called back to complain because there was no way it should have been over $100 to diagnose and treat, and they had the nerve to tell me that the shelter would say that because the people who work in shelters have no longterm hopes for the animal!
