BEWARE!!! My furnace stopped working during the first rainy & cold day this winter. I called General heating & Air conditioning. The technician said I needed two parts, One would cost $315 and the second part would cost over $900. I immediately checked the part prices online, The first part was $40.00 and the second part was $149.00 (full retail price). I paid him a diagnostic fee of $95.00 and asked him to leave. Labor per hour would have been $130.00. Although the diagnosis was correct, the charges were outrageous.\r \r I called a factory authorized service place, their parts were within 20% of the online part price and they charged $65.00 per hour, charging two hours labor to install the parts.
