We just moved here from Houston, didn't think any of the Portland restaurants would stand up to some of the quality Indian food I am used to. I was wrong, found about Chutneys from Urbanspoon. My iphone shaker said Chutneys so we went. It is almost impossible to find an Indian restaurant that ranks high in quality, ambiance and customer service. I am totally impressed with everything. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great. She came by to make sure that water and soda were topped off. The food was delicious and fresh, the fresh herb (mint and basil) garnishing was exquisite and added great flavor. Mumtaz biryani was the best I have ever had. You have to try their mango pie, if you love mango like I do, you will be in tropical heaven. Now if someone can help me find some sunshine in this town I will be all set.
