We experienced a drainage issue while on vacation reported to us by our house sitter. We called to make the appointment the day before our return date. Preferred Plumbing was ready and willing to send someone out that day. The plumber (Dave) arrived on time and assessed the problem quickly. He gave us the quick fix estimate and then told us what we needed to do to completely fix the problem. We were expected a hefty estimate in the thousands for the complete fix. Definitely more than the $200 quick fix which would be enough to get us through our problem. It turned out to be only a couple of hundred dollars more for a complete repiping of our kitchen sink drain (which was installed improperly by the kitchen remodelers). We then asked Dave about our drain pipe to the street which we thought may have roots. We had not snaked it out in the 11+ yrs we lived in the home. He said the cost was $150, but since he was there already, it would only be $75 if we wanted it done that day. We opted to get it done. There was no pressure to get it done and no pressure by him for us to decided to do the complete pipe change under our sink. We had been experiencing a slow leak for years and didn't know why. We suspected the dishwasher or garbage disposal and were ready to buy new ones. The entire job took about 4 hours and was done professionally, all for less than we had anticipated paying. We would certainly recommend these guys to others.
