Before Saks Fifth Avenue closed their Portland location, I used to have their in-store tailor take care of alterations on newly bought suits. Right before the store closed, I decided to take in a few older suits to the same tailor only to be turned down because he was slammed and not accepting any additional alterations before store closure. I asked him what in the world was I to do, and that's when he whispered Silvian's shop name. I promptly went to meet Silvian who inspected my suits (of various styles) and said he would have no problems with my requested alterations. I am 6 feet tall with narrow hips and broad shoulders, so majority of my dressy clothes need to be tailored to my frame. My wife came with me and we all hit it off with Silvian. When I picked up my suits, the results were amazing, everything fit me just right and I could finally make use of my old suits. Since then, Silvian has been my go-to tailor for suits, dress shirts, coats, you name it. My brothers have taken their suits to him during the last couple years and are looking sharp. Would strongly recommend Silvian as someone skilled in his craft. I hope he doesn't plan to retire anytime soon because then I'll really be in trouble...
