Review content:
I ordered my wedding cake from Baum's and met with them twice to go over exactly what I wanted and then confirmed over the phone exactly what I expected. I even provided a picture. I bought special ribbon (that they instructed me to buy) that matched my bridesmaids dresses EXACTLY to place on the cake. I paid for edible pearls to be placed on all three tiers, with specific instructions for NO BUTTERCREAM PEARLS. I asked that there be no scalloped icing on the bottom of the tiers. They did not use my ribbon, they made a messy purple icing ribbon around the cake that made the cake look like it was crooked. They put buttercream pearls with VERY few real edible pearls. There was scalloped icing along the bottom of the cake. Also, I paid an extra $60 to have them do a buttercream water smoothing technique that the lady raved about that makes the buttercream as smooth as fondant with no ripples. The icing looked like my 3 year old niece slapped it on there at the last minute. I nearly burst into tears when I walked into my fairytale reception to see that mess of a cake. Unless you're prepared to cry at your wedding over the cake, I suggest you go with someone else. When I pay THAT much for a cake, I expect it to be what I ordered.
