Review content:
There are only a handful of therapists out there that I've seen can do more harm than good, and I believe this is one of those. I talked to her and was trying to explain my situation, but she reacted very strongly and got opinionated. I think she didn't understand me at all, and I wasn't explaining anything particularly complex. I expect her to speak her mind, but just from the perspective of a highly trained professional, not with extreme bias. In terms of professionalism, there was almost none there. It was like talking to some random person off the street. Now, I do see she has two counseling licenses. I have no idea why one would have both, except maybe to learn more or to have a backup in case of losing one of them. Oh well. Anyway, I'd say that you should stay clear of her unless you are absolutely sure that she can help you, but I parted feeling like she needs trauma therapy, herself, not to give it out. I felt quite hurt after talking to her, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Her rating was a 7.1 *before* I rated her, so I don't know if it will change at all from my rating, given that there are so many people out there who may have rated her over the years. A 7.1 sounds about right, given that she is one of the lowest rated therapists in the state and considering what I experienced with her.
Pros: VERY good location for those in her neck of the woods where there are less options.
Cons: Too numerous to mention in this short space, but I'll add that you can't expect an unbiased opinion about men, so don't bring up issues w/a husband and don't do couple counseling w/her.
