I was in San Antonio a few weeks ago for a business trip and had the chance to play a few courses while I was in town. My buddy, who lives in SA, recommended I play the Republic, and let me say that I was thoroughly impressed with course. I grew up in SA and spent a lot of time at some of the other ""top"" public courses but had never played The Republic. I found the course to be a real treat, and I think it is the best I have played in SA. I read the 2005 review on this site, and either the course has changed, or the guy was not paying attention. The fairways were perfect and the greens are some of the best I have played on for a public course, hell, even a private course!! It is a real treat to find a great value like this. It is obvious that they pay attention to the details and I would recommend it to locals, or golfers in town for the weekend.
Pros: Beautiful Green Fairways - Well kept greens - Challenging, but FUN!!
Cons: None that I can remember
