Review content:
I have been taking my 3 year old there for a couple of years now because it is very convenient and the last few months I have been lucky enough to get the girl in the second chair on the left (sorry, I don't know your name??). She is always friendly and always does a great job on my son's hair.
Well, my 11-month-old was recently ready for his first haircut. I was sooo excited to take him in. I had my camera, and an envelope ready to put some clippings for his baby book. I signed him and my 3-year-old in and patiently waited, unfortunately not seeing my usual girl. My youngest was called first and when the two women at the front saw who was called they both looked at each other then gave me a look like I was crazy. They both started repeating that he was too young and they could not cut his hair. I quickly glanced around the waiting/sign-in area for an age limit sign, nothing. Now, let me say that I understand that different establishments have different policies, but it is not so much that they said that they wouldn't cut his hair but the manner in which they said it. They were rude and short with me. Let me also say that my nephew has been getting his hair cut at another similar hair salon in the area since he was 6 weeks old without a problem and when I took my 3 year old to get his first haircut (at a different but similar place) when he was about 11 months, I had no problem then. So, it didn’t occur to me that I should ask. As an aside let me add that I work in a spa, and I can guarantee that none of the girls in our hair salon would handle a similar situation the same way and we have a sign stating at the entry that no children under the age of 6 are allowed unless they are getting a service, but they are allowed services. A customer is a customer no matter how small. A TGF is exactly the type of salon that should be cutting babies’ hair anyway. A baby does not need a $20 spa quality haircut.
I will not be returning to TGF.
Pros: Sweet, talented, younger girl in second chair on left
Cons: The other women there are cold and unprofessional
