FOOD: AVERAGE. Though it is hard to find good authentic chinese food on the mainline. I'd say Margaret Kuo's food is just average. The Peking duck was overcooked, the meat was dry. The braised ox tail was tough, probably need another hour of braising. The shrimp and also the egg plant was cold when brought to the table. In terms of flavour, it was average but I was extremely disappointed at the temperature of the food. One of the most important aspect of Chinese cooking is ""wok hei"" (heat from the frying wok) and I definitely don't see it there.\r

SERVICE: NON-EXISTENT. 4 adults and 1 toddler weny on Sunday night and the restaurant was full. We did not have reservation but were warmly welcomed to a booth seat. However, I noticed there were only two (2) waiters serving the whole restaurant. It took a while before we were given menus. The food took a long time to arrive (and the food was cold). The waiter never ever came back to check on us. We had to literally stand up and flag one of the waiters down for more tea. Later on, I believe the manager was on the floor but he was not at all friendly to us. We asked for the bill and that also took forever. It was disappointing. \r
For an upscale restaurant in Wayne, they have a lot more to catch up in terms of service.\r
To receive such poor service, it made me wonder if it was because we had a toddler with us. I also notice another table with a family of four having a hard time to get service. The lady had to stand up and do the ""big wave Hello"" in order to get service.\r
When I received bad service, I ofter wonder if I had done something wrong but I believe we all behaved.\r
I would not go back, definitely. I didn't try their Japanese food though, but I would go to Hana which is down the road, at least it is run by a Japanese family!
Pros: Can't think of one. Maybe the decoration.
Cons: Poor service. Food was cold.
