Review content:
I must have passed this dive-ish looking place 50 times before I went in -- even had a free-meal coupon I received when I moved to the neighborhood but no, I try to eat pretty healthy and just wouldn't let myself ""go there."" Well, now I know why I postponed my initial visit -- It's really GOOD. I'm from the South so I'm familiar with things like good fried chicken. Golden Pride's is just like back home with pretty decent mashed potatoes and gravy, and coleslaw. The rolls are nothing to write home about but besides that I've liked everything I've tried. The bbq chicken is almost as tasty as the fried and I tried their green chili stew -- too hot for me but really good. Their Cobb type salad wasn't great but not bad either. The service seems consistently friendly, particularly at the drive through. For good fried chicken, I highly recommend Golden Pride.
Pros: Great chicken and good, friendly service, like an upscale KFC
Cons: There is no RDA for fried chicken
