Review content:
Growing up in Philly and NY and having lived in the heart of Soprano-land north Jersey, we struggled when we first arrived in Raleigh to find a true taste of home...we found it at Assaggio's. This is true NY style pizza...if you question that, you've never really had it...crust, sauce, cheese are all perfect. Pasta dishes are all wonderful...from the authentic pasta itself to the fresh, perfectly seasoned sauces, to the generous portions. The gnocchi is perfectly light and fantastic with either the homemade marinara or the tomato cream sauce (a great recommendation from our favorite server). The garlic knots are, in a word, addictive. Salads are always fresh and crisp. Even though you order at the counter then seat yourself, the service is always friendly, fast and helpful. Wherever you live in the Triangle, it's worth the drive and close to ""home."" Pros: great food, inexpensive
