I found this location in the yellow pages to get my boots altered. I called on a weekend day to see if it was open, and the man who answered was curt. After I briefly explained my needs, he told me I would need to come to his store for them to see the boots. I did not like the way he spoke to me, so I tried to call other stores, but my calls were not getting through to them. I decided to take a look at J&G and see what they could do. \r \r The store is tiny, which is not a problem, but it did not appear to be clean and every surface was very worn and old (a large area of the carpet was worn almost all the way through the backing -- a 5' mat or rug would have covered it just fine; the counter had old tape residue and scraps of paper stuck to it; the wallpaper was also worn). When I explained to the man at the counter what I needed, he informed me that his co-worker who handles the service I needed wasn't in that day. Now, why didn't he tell me that on the phone when I called before, so I could have saved myself the trouble?\r \r There were a couple of customers in the store and many finished customer orders on the shelf, so maybe the employees do good work. But I'll never know as I will not return there after such a bad first impression. I could overlook the ugliness of the space if the service had been great, but it was far from it. As I didn't use their service, I gave this store a rating based on the rude service.
