Review content:
Horrific experience. Dr. Blankenship told us he was stopping just short of a root canal. That’s fine. But then the assistant set the temporary cap too high and told us this was normal. Pain ensued. So did a severe allergic “feminine” reaction to the antiobiotics prescribed. My wife stopped taking the med and called the dentist. She was humiliated when she was told by the staff that her symptoms were unrelated to the med and was probably due to “something else” (even though this symptom is listed on the accompanying pamphlet). My wife explained she’s a married woman and nothing has “changed” in her life, but to no avail. We contacted her obgyn for help. Pain in the tooth persisted two weeks in, so I called all day Wednesday, finally leaving a message late Wednesday afternoon. I called again Thursday morning, left another message, and didn’t get a hold of them until late Thursday (no they didn’t call me) The office told me she had to be there in 30 min before they closed so the Dr. could take a look at her tooth. Wife’s at work, not happening. Friday morning? Nope, Dr.‘s on vacation till Monday and he won’t prescribe pain meds until he sees her. I tell them I wish they would have returned my message, hang up, fume, then call back to speak to the Dr., who’s now left the office. It’s only 5:45 at this point (office closes at 6) so I ask them to have him call me. Surely considering the circumstances, and seeing as how no one returned my call earlier so I could get her in on Thursday, he can make a quick phone call on his way home and prescribe a few pain meds to get us thru the weekend (they never prescribed any to begin, but now because of the cap being so high, my wife is in extreme pain). No call. Ever. So we call our primary Dr.
I call them 3 weeks in to see if the permanent cap has arrived. “We were going to call you.” Sure. When we go in we explain to the office manager our frustrations. She denies knowing about anything and that she’ll right the ship. We go to the back to have the permanent put on and explain the pain my wife was having. Assistant says that the pain shouldn’t have lasted that long and that the cap may have been too high (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?) Angrily, I ask the assistant if a root canal had in fact in been done, she says yes. I ask her if we even needed to take the antibiotics to begin with? She said yes. Dr. Blankenship comes in and tells us a root canal was NOT done, assistant gets defensive, lies in front of all of us and says “I told you that.” Also states that because it wasn’t done, she DID NOT have to take the antibiotics after all (now he tells us). We talk to the Dr. afterwards, he does his best to cover up for his staff my claiming miscommunication on everything, tells us he was never alerted to any of our concerns and that there is another doctor in the office that my wife could have seen on that Friday. Oh, and after all was said and done, the office manager never called us back like she “promised” she would. Wasn’t looking for a refund or a discount on future visits because we surely weren’t going there again, just acknowledgement. Thanks for nothing. An office full of losers. Don’t waste your time.
