""I've watched restaurants come and go in this location for 20 years, and finally there's one that I hope stays for 20 more years!! Cacciucco opened 2 years ago and has been going strong since.\r

David, the owner, is an ""authentic"" Italian and the excellence of his food and service are a testament to what dedication, combined with real world experience can do for a restaurant. They offer a broad menu that hasn't been American-ized yet, at moderate prices representing several Italian regions. All meals start with their home-baked focaccia bread accompanied by fresh orange-infused olive oil dipping trays. Specials are offered nightly and I've delighted with the Wild Boar and Venison to name a few. Seafood is always fresh as are the pastas and vegetables. They also have an extensive wine menu featuring several Italian producers. Finally, be sure to finish your meal with one of their excellent, freshly made tiramisus' and a sip of Vin Santo!\r

Because they have a smaller kitchen, it seems all of the entries are cooked to order, so they are always hot and fresh. As they are located on the Old Town area in south Sausalito, it is not a tourist trap, so service is always quick and there's free parking below the establishment. If you are local, to-go orders are quick and convenient. \r
