Allied Van Lines moved 10,000lbs, basically everything I had in my 4 bedroom house, from Seattle,WA to Carpinteria,CA. I chose to pack everything, which I'm sure saved a bundle, so the agent came out and gave me an estimate on loading everything in Seattle, transport and unloading in Carp. I had never used a moving company before, but after this experience, I will ALWAYS use Allied for my moving needs. They were incredibly adept at ""wrapping and packing"" my furniture so it could be transported safely, and everything arrived in A-1 condition. They gave me a 7 day window for the transport and the driver did it in 4, which I was really pleased about. The movers were awesome, placing each piece of furniture and every box exactly where I directed. I could go on and on, but I'll close by saying this is an extremely professional group of movers and I would trust them again with my family antiques. I can't vouch for how competitive their rates are, as I only got one estimate, but I would imagine they are competitive. You get what you pay for, you know? The president of the company even knocked on my door the day before the truck arrived to welcome me to the neighborhood! (Apparently I live extremely close to the Carpinteria office) He was making sure such a large truck would be able to get in and out of my residence safely, so was in the neighborhood, but didn't have to take the time to greet me. Great company, great people, great experience. Oh, and please don't forget to tip the movers. I tipped the driver $200, and the 2 movers each $120. My only regret is that I wasn't quite with the program yet and only gave the movers who loaded my stuff a measly $20 tip each. After a discussion with my cousin, I realized that this was completely inappropriate, but by then it was too late.
