Review content:
Gerst Haus is not a true German resturant; however, one can get some good German food. Get the large platter with a LARGE AMOUNT of EVERYTHING. This is the deal. The Schnitzel is good. Do Not get the bratwurst by it self that is like our hotdogs. Spend the money and get a dinner then you can at least say you tried the adult food. When we have gone something is missing and that is the Oktoberfest feeling. The building feels like you will get that feeling, but you never do. By the way I have gone to the Munich Oktoberfest 6 times. The problem is the waiter staff has never been out of Nashville, much less Germany. The party atmosphere is just not here. Another problem is SMOKING IS ALLOWED in the dinning room. As soon as you come through the door the smoking smell in gulfs you. The beers are ok. Plan to spend more money than original expected. That said, go to the Gerst House and try a large dinner and share it with the table then everybody will be happy. August 31, 2006
