I initially found out about Murphy's Furniture through an ad on Craigs List for a bean bag clearout sale. When I called, they sounded very cordial and helpful. I had a heck of a time trying to find the place but that's because I was from out of town. But, when I arrived I quickly discovered that it was well worth the drive. I was to see that it felt like home inside, not like a major brand name store at all. It was quiet and near closing time- Kathy and Mary offered some free muffins to me and even followed me around the store to help with my purchase. They answered all my questions and were very engaged in my shopping experience. The store has a family atmosphere, it was started by the owner's mother nearly 40 years ago. The building used to be an old saloon/restaurant and is 109 years old. The products they have are reasonably priced and they have an upstairs and downstairs with a wide selection of furniture. I was surprised as many of their items are brand new but they are sold for around half of their normal retail price. Even if you can't find exactly what you're looking for in their inventory, they can contact their supplier and you can probably find just what you're looking for. Great products for kids and adults alike. Just be sure to visit this place next time you need some furniture of any kind, it is more than an enjoyable experience and you will not leave unsatisfied. What sweet people and a great store. I will be coming back.
