Review content:
The gelato is excellent, as is the brick-oven pizza. If I could stop there, I'd give La Gelateria 5 stars with exclamation points. Unfortunately, there are MAJOR service issues. I could overlook the hair in my gelato (yuck!)--once--accidents happen. What I can' t overlook is that they claim to be making pizzas but seldom actually do it. They quit early--up to an hour before closing--and, now that they have expanded the hours to open at 1PM, they don't bother starting until 4PM. Or so they say, after that last (5th!!) disappointment, I haven't bothered to go back. The owner needs to get involved and take care to get some interested, customer oriented staff. And if the pizza hours are going to be significantly different from the gelato hours they need to specify that on the door--anything else is false advertising. BTW, my telling them about the hair was met with a shrug. As I said, very disappointing service from a place that could so easily be excellent.
Pros: Excellent gelato, excellent pizza
Cons: If only they ACTUALLY made the pizza once in a while
