First and foremost I know the trek to Alvin, TX might be a deal breaker for most, but after you experience what The Barbed Rose has to offer, you will see, the drive is worth it. From the moment I stepped into this small, intimate dining room I knew I had stumbled across a jewel! The restaurant sits at the entrance of downtown Alvin just beyond the historic railroad depot. The trains still run and can be heard in the restaurant, but not to the level of being annoying. The service was wonderful. Our waiter explained the specials, ingredients, wines, and flavors so that we understood everything. You can really feel the heart and soul that the Chef put into the menu. The bar is stocked and ready to serve as well. I can not wait until our next visit to The Barbed Rose.
