Review content:
We were visiting from the Napa Valley, where we live and work in the wine industry and had heard about the great food at the Bistro. Food was good, but the service was unbelievably snotty. A hostess who rolled her eyes when we asked to be seated at a booth, staff who made sure to let us know how much we were putting them out by the move, a waitress who got quite grumpy when the salad we had ordered with ""no dairy, please"" showed up covered in cheese. After she slammed the plated down, she didn't stop by the table again until we had indicated to the busgirl that we were finished, even though the restaurant was less than 25% full and she did have time to sit and chat with coworkers at the bar. We weren't asked how our food was, water glasses weren't refilled, we weren't offered a chance to order seconds of the very good pinot noir, which we would have gone for, given the opportunity. Originally, we'd planned to have dessert and coffee, but the service was so extremely poor that we ditched the restaurant and went elsewhere. We rarely tip under 25%, but this time left only about 10,% and even that was pushing it. Notice to the Bistro and all potential customers: Haughty service doesn't make a chic place. That's a very outdated 80's notion. We want to sit down and be warmly welcomed, taken care of, enjoy the friendliness and good humor of the staff, and are willing to pay for the experience. This is definitely not the place to go. Too bad, because the cooked food was very good, even if the salad was tasteless.
Pros: Cooked food excellent. Tasteless salad dressings.
Cons: Horrendous service, bad attitudes. You're putting them out and they let you know it.
