Review content:
I clogged up my kitchen sink like an idiot with a bunch of uncooked rice. After not having any luck w/ a hand auger I found these guys on the bureau business better site and figured since they were a member w/ a satisfactory record they were on the up and up. I called and the woman told me they charge $95 flat rate for clogged drains, period. So the guy comes out and the 1st thing he says is he asks me if I was quoted $95 and that since my house didn't have some connection thing on the outside it would be $125. I already had roto rooter out and they quoted me $275 and I just wanted this done so I gave the OK. The guy made a huge production of it, struggling and going on about how messed up my old pipes were downstairs. It seemed to me like it was probably cleared within the 1st 15 minutes, but the guy was working and struggling for about an hr. He poured some water down the pipe and told me it was still backing up. This seemed strange to me because I went in the basement and could hear the cable clanging around all the way through. He snaked some more and then finally tells me I'm going to need to have a new line put in and they'll credit my $125 to the cost of installing the new pipes. I even tipped this guy! After he left I figured I'd just check it out myself and put the trap back in place and turned the water on. No more clog. Funny thing is I just did a search on plumber scams and found something about a company in CA that was being investigated. CBS found their manual which told the plumbers to mumble and shake their heads before handing them a quote for the new unnecessary work. Are all plumbers scam artists?!?!?!
Pros: the drain was unclogged
Cons: see the review
