Very reasonable, very personable, very caring and very, very, very talented. She will listen to you and you will leave looking fabulous and feeling happy!
Can't say too many good things about this salon...and I'm not the easiest person in the world to please! Can't go wrong w/Color Boxx and Ms. Nikki!
Oh and a bit of advice, I approached this salon based on good reviews on another site from actual CLIENTS and not disgruntled ex-employees. I only saw these after my experience there...which was nothing but positive. So, to anyone out there who wants to give it a shot, go for it--you'll be glad you did.
Here's my story:
I'm new to Savannah and tried to color my own hair with fairly disastrous results. I phoned them up today a sweet and helpful receptionist, Alyssa answered and I explained my situation to her. After asking me to hold, she came back on almost immediately and said Nikki asked me to come by and she would work me in. I've never even been to this salon and Nikki (who was flying solo today--a busy Saturday) was kind enough to squeeze me in??? I was quite pleasantly shocked!
Located in the Starland district, the salon has a cool, minimalistic somewhat industrial look w/exposed piping and hair dryers suspended from the ceiling above the chairs on the ready for the stylists. Plus there's a bakery right next door!
I am extremely picky about my hair and she listened very carefully and understood what I like and don't like in a hairstyle. She knew exactly what to do in order to achieve the color I really wanted. When I came in, my hair had hideous orange/yellow highlights and when I left, it was a lovely, soft buttery/beige blonde. And, soft and silky, to boot.
She corrected my at-home color oops, formulated a game plan for the future of my hair style and even sent me home with a couple of little to go cups filled with a two types of shampoos that I'm to alternate until used up. And, I might add, she gave me these products without even trying to hawk them to me.
And, just when I thought things couldn't get any better, she asked me to come in next week just so she could check on it and see how the new color behaved over my color oops...to make sure it was still looking okay and to possibly add a few more foils, if necessary...and...are you sitting down??? At NO charge. She explained she's just a perfectionist that way----which is a welcomed quality in a hairdresser!
In addition to being a truly awesome colorist/stylist, she also is extremely warm, friendly and funny.
Oh and Alyssa gives wonderful scalp massages with each shampoo!
Pros: super customer service and skillful stylist
