Review content:
I, an Asian-American male, was traveling to Washington, D.C. for a job interview during a snow storm and was extremely exhausted due to stresses of traffic, snow and the cold. Before coming to D.C., I took an exit and was searching for a place to stay for the night. I circled into the parking lot covered with ice of this one plaza and saw ""Bento Cafe and Sushi Roll."" I thought to myself that it would be wonderful to finally find a tasty dinner. I turned off the engine and went inside. It was one hour before closing. The couple, obviously owners of the place did not make a good impression at all. The wife kept nagging on about how great the place and her food was way before I even ordered. Tired but remaining patience I quietly listened. The wife had exceptionally verbal communication of English. Perhaps this was unfortunate for me before she went on and on non-stop on what I have previously mentioned. I thought to myself, ""I get it, you could speak good English."" Right off the bat, they picked it out that I was not a local and traveling alone because I was taking my time with the menu. Being rude as she was, she kept ranting on about what I should order instead of keeping quiet as the customer chooses, something that is pretty much standard for a good waiter. I finally made up my mind and ordered number 7, which looked like a very well presented combination of sashimi and sushi rolls. I was excited of what was finally coming for me. Again, the loquacious wife pressured me into trying out her teas and instead of allowing me to choose, she wanted me to try her secret recipe. In the end, I paid a total of $27.93 for my dinner with a tiny portion of appetizer and her 'secret tea'. Wow! Omgosh for one person? I could pay for a sushi buffet for two with that. Anyways, I was extremely tired and paid anyways for my food. Hoping that what I saw in the picture menu was worth $27.93. I sat in the table far from the couple to get some peace and quiet with my meal. When they called me, I was shocked at what was being brought out for me. An order on a cheap looking PAPER PLATE (What happened to the bento box? Isn't that the name of your restaurant?) with 4 pieces of terribly made sashimi rolls and 4 slices of tuna sashimi. That was it. She brought out the tea claiming that it would make me 'feel better'. I am being really honest here, but the tea tasted like she look a packet of seasoning from a cup of ramen noodles and mix it with some dark chicken broth. Disgusting tea. I had a terrible experience at this place due to the etiquette of the owners and the prices and the food. I walked out of that place feeling like they ripped me off big time. - Andy T.
