I wouldn't rate ER in the top 10 for camping. If I'm going to camp in central TX, you will find me at the Guadalupe River for daytime activities. What they dont tell you about ER is that it is great for spelunking the fissures throughout the rock. It is dangerous, that's why they dont tell you about it. Climb to to top and look for the portals on the back side. Once inside there are arrows to lead you out. there are 5 or more portals that connect. You need 2 flashlights per person, (one for backup) and good shoes for slippery surfaces. Take it slow, light a candle, and tell stories. Enjoy! Pros: caves, Fredricksburg Cons: Out there
