Review content:
This was hands down the worst realty/management company I have ever used. Teel Realty (Landlord was Retals, LLC) was awful from the beginning to the end. The staff was nasty (especially Tina Marie Potvin - she was rude, condescending and difficult to deal with). The company tried to scam us by preparing documents stating we were responsible for both pre-existing and other damage done to the building (which were acts done by old tenants and homeless persons). They also tried to withhold part of our security even though the apartment was returned in better condition than what we got it in. The building was in disrepair and loaded with large rodents, ants and other insects. Representatives of the staff would enter the locked apartment whenever they felt like it (unannounced - which is illegal as it was not an emergency situation such as a leak, etc). One time a maintenance man brought his small child into the apartment while no one was there and let him run around. I only found out as I was coming in while he was leaving. The common areas of the building were kept in disgusting order and we had problems with both the electrical and plumbing. When we took possession of the apartment there was water leaking through the roof and pouring out of the kitchen light fixture. It took Teel two months to get everything repaired (which only consisted of them sanding and painting). For some reason, everything Teel promised to do either was never completed or completely botched. We had to resort to legal resources and lawyers during our tenancy to force Teel Realty to stop sending us false and threatening letters. The only plus out of the whole experience was the location of the building but in retrospect this was not worth all the trouble and problems that resulted from leasing an apartment from these want-to-be scam artists. I wish I had sued them in small claims court when I had the chance but was too busy going to school and working to make an honest living.
Pros: Location of Property (Heart of Northeastern University)
Cons: Everything to do with the company (Lease, Maintenance, Building, etc).
