Review content:
I went into the Lava Tanning location on main street in Salem, because my regular tanning salon was closed for a few days. I stood at the counter for 20 minutes or so while a man I can only assume was the owner talked to a couple about purchasing a used sunbed, ignoring me entirely. I don't know why I didn't just walk out then, but I waited patiently for him to turn to me. When he did, I explained I just wanted to purchase a single session since I already had a membership elsewhere. He asked if I had my own goggles for the session. I told him that I didn't own any, because they're normally provided at tanning salons. He told me he wouldn't let me tan unless I bought a pair from him for SEVEN DOLLARS. This would mean I would have to spend around $15 on one session. I told him never mind, I'd go elsewhere. He then assumed I don't wear the goggles at all when I tan, and told me I'd go colorblind if I didn't start wearing them. I DO wear the goggles, I don't know who he thought he was patronizing me like that. He even shoved a piece of paper forward and said, "Can you even read the numbers on that?" It was one of those cards with bubbles in different colors, a test for your vision showing whether you are able to see certain colors or not. I just thought this was over the top, but I just quietly read all the numbers out to him and walked out. I have never been treated so rudely at an establishment in my life.
