Xiloa (pronounced Hee-lo-ah) is a new restaurant on 9th Street and a welcome addition.
They specialize in refrescos, fresh natural juices made daily, there are always about 6-8 to choose from and all are delicious.
The food is delicious and most items can be prepared vegan or vegetarian. Nicaraguan cooking, unusual and very different from what we Americans know as Mexican food.
Specialties we like are Nacatamales, Indian Taco and my favorite the Mofongo (roasted, sweet plantains with vegetables and sauce served with rice).
Service is warm and friendly and neighborly. Go by and try the juices, they will let you sample them first which is great fun. Then have a meal, relax and enjoy.
