We have a miniature Dachshund and from the first visit, they have always remembered our dog, Louis, by name. They greet him from the time he walks in the door like he's a member of the family. When we pick him up, he's not stressed out or upset in any manner. In fact, our dog seems to enjoy the experience to the point where when we discuss it within our family we call it "going to dog camp." Louis appears to look forward to going there. During the drive he's active, up, and looking out the window like he knows where he's going. He's not resistant to going in and staying there. This alone makes the whole experience worthwhile for Louis and for us as dog owners.
