My experience as a FIVE year customer 2006-2011!
In 2006 during a complete home renovation my husband & I found Conejo U Store-It to store my personal & home based business inventory . The storage was supposedly under both our names when initially opened, however, in 2009 once separated my husband used this opportunity to bribe the facility manager to exclude my name from our joint mutual storage, I later found out that the bribe was indeed Significant!.. and the storage facility manager/resident owner was well rewarded for excluding my name although aware of the fact that I was a frequent visitor ( enough security cameras to record my visits as well as a centrally located unit t next to their office) being clearly aware that the unit belonged to a married couple they denied me access. Initially an 8ft X 10ft space loaded with valuable inventory, xmas & decorative lights, a huge selection & literally thousands of dollars worth shelving & movable steel racks ...they denied me access & said that the unit now belongs to my ex husband! Right there and then I smelled something fishy & my hunch was right on! The ex was indeed liquidating my assets! Through divorce court and ex's own admission claims, I later found out that the Spiteful ex husband decided to get rid of all my valuable belongings by bribing the immoral storage grounds keeper/ resident with all my valuable storage shelves/ racks as well as other items, as a trade off to put his own name on the unit and rent a smaller unit! After a year and a half I was allowed access to go and pick up the remaining unusable junk left behind since he no longer wished to pay for the Now smaller storage. Once I gained access to the storage grounds, I found out that an extra lock was placed & told "" I can not have access"" due to ex husbands late payment..! Outraged by their lack of ethics I confronted them that I am aware of the fact they are the new unlawful owners of my inventory!! & that the items they ""bought"" were literally ""stolen property"". Thankfully I had a witness with me, observing & recording the whole scenario. Our argument escalated & At last the facility manager's wife admitted to it all! Later her terrified/ freaked out husband came out to open the newly placed second lock so I could access the remaining junk left by my ex! ... I am sure they were counting on claiming or auctioning off the remaining junk for a low profit since all the quality goods were already gone!
It's unfortunate that I married a looser in the first place but even more unfortunate that this pathetic spiteful individual was rewarded discreetly by selling all my valuables to NONE other than the facility manager/ storage grounds keeper witnessing it all! I rarely write reviews of this nature, however feel compelled to alert any possible victims. In all honesty the security cameras throughout the facility are not safe enough to stop the thieves that reside within, masked as so called "" supervising on-site facility managers"" operating a low life vulture like approach... waiting for distress amongst people and looking at it as an opportunity to seize a lame profit! It is a shame such people have a license to steal! in this case they have a seemingly legitimate business they're hiding behind, where they allow themselves to eagerly monitor/ observe victims while loading their units and wait for the day to slap on an extra lock & lock customers out of their own units. Simply no words to describe the nasty experience in dealing with them. Two thumbs down is an understatement.
