Unfair! In contract before cleaning? Yes. After cleaning-NO! 12/29/2011

I called them before making an appointment to check if my new dental insurance is in contract with them. The answer was "yes we are. would you like to schedule an appointment?" And we did for both sons. And now it is 6 month since that time. I spent hours on the phone and sent faxes with confirmations that insurance paid part. And now they are going to send paperwork to Collection Agency. First of all now I know they are NOT in contract with my insurance. What?! How come? They state every person in their office know they are not in contract...So, how come they told me over the phone that they are?.. And they did not say anything when we brought our sons for cleaning to the office either. Then they could not find a payment from insurance for one of my son. After fax with insurance payment confirmation from me they "found it". Now they got around $140 from insurance but still want $150 from us. Even though I tried to explain to many people from their office this is not my fault and error was from them, they still want balance from me. The only they give is a discount of $25 for each son. Wait, I don't print money. If I knew we need to pay $50 out of pocket in addition to $70 paid by insurance for each son... We have another dentist who is in network and cleaning is FREE. Cleaning is not that difficult and long procedure for children. It is unfair. Not my fault at all! Pros: null Cons: null more
