I was raised a Presbyterian and got tired of feeling worse after the service than when I walked in. I was ready to forget going to church but felt my two middle schoolers needed it. An acquaintance of my husband invited us to Savannah Christian 8 years ago. At first I was uncomfortable, coming from "the frozen chosen" Presbyterian crap. But the sermons weren't just a bunch of theology mumbo jumbo. They were relevant to my life. I don't agree with everything I hear, but I realized who Jesus is, where I had never "gotten it" before in the Presbyterian church. It's sometimes a little strict, and I applied for a job there. Yes, it's true they ask you to abide by some strict rules, which I probably wouldn't feel comfortable with committing to. My baptism isn't recognized either because I was not "immersed". For that reason, I won't officially join. I do participate in a weekly small group, look forward to going every Sunday and generally love this church. It's big, it's not perfect, they do
