Ok, so my relatively new Dell laptop got infected overnight with this rather sneaky spyware called Antivirus.Action. Before going to the Computer Hospital in Travis, I read several reviews and everybody seemed to rave about this place. When I arrived there I explained my problem and they said -sure, no problem- totally fixable. All that was needed -according to the technitian- was a ""cleanup"" which would cost me $145.00 dollars. I agreed to their fee and left the place happy. I was in for a surprise, as on the day the computer was supposed to be ready I received a call from one of the techniticans saying that they couldn?t possibly fix my computer unless I agreed to replace the hard drive -which conveniently for them- changed my bill from $145 to almost $300. I said I was not interested in changing the hard drive and that I was just going to contact Dell directly. They were very eager to convince me repeatedly that Dell was not going to do much for me - which I thought was suspicious. When I declined their offer they said I was going to have to pay $45 anyway for all the backup they had done. When I went to pick up my computer and the backup, they told me that such backup is stored in their system only for ""insurance"" purpuses and that if I wanted a copy of all my data I would have to pay an extra $35 dollars. That happened earlier today and to not make this story longer...I am writing this review from my perfectly well functioning laptop -which I fixed my self by downloading a FREE anti-spyware program that got rid of the bug in seconds.
